Accepting applicants “nation-wide” or willing to relocate your employee, we offer some suggestions for best practices to advertise and keep within the framework of our ATS as well as conforming to the standards of the Job Boards.
If you are accepting applicants “nation-wide” for a particular position or you are willing to relocate your employee, we offer some suggestions for best practices to advertise and keep within the framework of our ATS as well as conforming to the standards of the Job Boards in general. A specific location (City, State & Zip Code) is required by the job boards (free or paid) to help job seekers find openings close to their home or desired work location. Most job boards will allow job seekers to filter based on ""# miles from my home" or something similar. The location, including zip code, becomes critical to that process so it is required in the ATS.
We offer the following suggestions to help increase your applicant flow for these types of positions. Depending on your market and position, it make take some testing and massaging of your listing to see what gives you the best results for your company.
Suggestion #1 - Advertise the position using the location of your company headquarters city/zip on the Job Board Push page (megaphone icon), but put Nationwide as the city on the actual job listing that will show on your career site job listing. Then, using your description field, include information about relocation or nationwide opportunities. We have also found that adding keywords to the title of your position could help, such as: Sales Manager – Nationwide Search – Relocation Available
Suggestion #2 - Advertise in the 4 – 5 largest cities/states of your top markets. Using your job template, create 4 – 5 job listings in those cities & states. Include the city & state in the job title such as: Regional Sales Manager – Cincinnati OH. Then, as described in Suggestion #1 include in the description that they have a relocation package, they are open to applicants nationwide, etc. Also, use the Keywords field to help your applicants find this position by listing keywords THEY (applicants) would use when searching for this type of position.
