Optional Status Code Display to Applicants

It may not make sense for an applicant to see your application status label describing his/her current consideration for a specific position, but you might be interested in displaying a more general label to applicants.

How many different application status codes do you have in your ATS portal? Depending on whether or not you are subject to compliance reporting, your list can be potentially very long and very specific (i.e. multiple hyphenated "not selected" codes with each describing the reason why someone is not selected - experience, education, background check, etc.).

It may not make sense for an applicant to see your application status label describing his/her current consideration for a specific position, but you might be interested in displaying a more general label to applicants. And while its always a good idea to proactively reach out to applicants to inform them of your applicant screening progress and/or their failure to meet qualifications for a position, it can only help to give the applicant the ability to check up on his/her own status from time to time, as well.

Here's how it works:
Once turned on, Admin users will have a new "Status Shown to Applicants" field available when editing or adding new application statuses in your portal.

Go to your Settings dashboard, and then click on the "Application Statuses" tab. To edit an existing code, click on the magnifying glass icon next to that code; or, to create a new code click on the green plus sign icon. For example, you might assign an existing application status of "Not Selected - Basic Requirements" to have the more general applicant-visible code of "Not Selected."

Then, as you screen applicants and assign them regular application status codes, if those codes have been assigned an applicant-visible label, then that label will be visible to applicants when they sign into their candidate profile.

In this short, two minute ExactHire vlog below, you can learn more about this feature and the benefits to you and your applicants.
